One of the pieces in my series "Deconstructed Nature".
I enjoy painting the natural world, but also enjoy abstracting what I see. By 'deconstructing' natural shapes, colors, and textures, I can arrange a collage or encaustic to become a painting perhaps without order, but with a sense of abstract composition.
- Besides yearly shows, I am represented by Ryan Gallery in Lincoln City. In addition, I am involved as a director in L.O.C.A.L. 14 and in planning the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts. I am a showing artist in Lake Area Artists and Painters Showcase and LOCAL 14.
Coming up this weekend!!!
L.O.C.A.L. 14. Art Show September 29- October 2. L14 celebrates year #49 by moving to a new location, and we're excited! Twice the space- parking assured- and more artists! LEFT BANK ANNEX
My year: Earlier this year I had a very bad accident. I broke 3 bones in my ankle and one in the shoulder. Lots of ligament damage/tears. ugh.... It has been a long recovery! So when I realized I couldn't get up to my studio for quite awhile, I decided to take some wire and beads I had already made and create some fun pieces of jewelry. Here are a few of the rings I made of copper and silver. To make sure they would last, I treated the copper with a cleaner and resin to coat it so it wouldn't tarnish. The silver is just that- if it touches your skin, I've made sure it won't tarnish. So earrings and rings- something a bit new. I will have them at the LOCAL 14 show!
